Jashoda Ben on pilgrimage. Kashi (Varanasi) a destination?

         So now it is in public domain. Narendra Modi has a wife and pious lady is on a pilgrimage. She is planning to visit chaar dhaams, according to family members. Since Kashi ( Varanasi) is not part of the earth planet ,so it is not included in these dhaams. Still no pilgrimage is complete without a visit to Kashi.

Will Jashoda Ben visit Kashi? Banarasis are hoping that when Narendra modi file his nomination papers, the pious lady should be in the holy city to be part of a historical moment. There is no better place than Kashi where long separated souls should meet.

There is a heated controversy in the country about the marital status of Modi. Amidst all this Jashoda Ben is observing vrita and offering prayers to see Modi at the highest post of Indian democracy. In historical context there are few parallels of the life of Jashoda Ben.The most appropriate figure comes into mind is of Urmila, wife of Lakshman, who waited and waited for return of her husband who , though not cursed, underwent to banbaas along with his brother. Character of Urmila was immortalized by rashtrakavi Maithili Sharan Gupt in Saket. The poet also gave voice to Yashodhara, wife of Tathagata.

Lord Ram's Ashwamedha Yagna  was performed by placing a golden statue of Sita besides him, as required by the shastras. . Sita was abandoned by the lord. One has to accompany his wife in major life rituals- actually or symbolically.

Rajyarohana of Modi will be incomplete without Jashoda Ben. So say shastras.
